Monthly Sketch Project - January 2010

9 in x 12 in Canson 90 lb watercolor paper, W&N and Grumbacher Watercolors

The first of January's Monthly Sketch Projects. I changed the composition from the original photo provided by Jennifer. It is supposed to be rose hips covered in snow.

In yesterday's blog post, this is one of the projects I was working on. I finished both this and the Creative Lettering assignment. The project I thought I would have done was my knitting. Still haven't knit a stitch since last night and that was the easy project.

I love the blurred out background; reminds me of when you zoom in with a camera lens. I also really like the snow covered rose hips!

I really like how you handled this. I agree - the blurred background really makes the rose hips stand out. Nicely done. nancy

beautiful! I live in New England and all my plants look like this! Covered in snow and ice. Beautiful capture of the look!
