Talk about going down in flames - my last challenge for the month. I made it with every single day sketching a EDM challenge.
I was attempting to fill the space with the smoke from the flame. Yes, smoke usually goes up, but with my test strike the smoke went sideways while the flame remained upright. I thought it would work. The whole time I was sketching this the song "The Flame" by Cheap Trick kept going thru my mind.

For some reason, I was instantly brought back to fire prevention week when I was in grade school. Every year we had to do posters and this makes such a simple yet powerful statement for such a task. I think this is wonderful!!
I think you almost got it! The only problem I see is that the tip of the flame is going opposite that of the smoke. Where I live smoke goes sideways most of the time but the flame tends to also. I only catch these things after I post them and I never seem to learn from them. Actually on yours, I didn't notice the descrepancies till you mentioned them. I was enjoying the smoke and flame and all the color. You lay it down much better than I do.
